Session 506: Championing the Inclusive and Elusive CMDB

Thursday, April 11 at 11:30 AM

View Schedule

The common perception of the CMDB is that implementation takes too long and there are often too many roadblocks to surpass. It's easy to lose sight of the benefits in the midst of long, seemingly insurmountable to-do lists. Without a champion to keep processes on track and minds focused on the small wins, organizations are missing out on long-term opportunities. However, with a greater understanding of the process, true organizational champions will emerge to support the CMDB. By the end of the session, attendees will have learned the importance of:

  • Addressing CMDB in a phased implementation approach that follows maturity assessment models
  • Governing and enforcing change management to effectively transition CMDB technical and procedural processes
  • Gathering and maintaining management and stakeholder support with a clear mission and achievable goals at each phase
  • Focusing on the resulting outcomes of persistence that create positive use cases
